An update on my Christmas break....
Well, I made it home--after basically being awake for 72 hours straight and not eating for over 24 hours, my plane finally came into Portland, and I was sure happy to be home! My plane ride was very interesting, as there was a lot of air turbulence and at one point it was snowing a lot too! I had to wait in the airport for about 30 min for dad to come and pick me up and then we finally made it to Sharon's place where I got to hold Shalyn---she is SOOOO cute! When I got home I also got to see the little kitten that Mom and Dad have---she is a terror...lol I have never seen such an active cat. I had to dig her out of the trash can this morning, and last night she jumped in the toilet. lol She is super cute, but is sure full of the mischief!
I slept a lot the first few days I was here, and ate a lot! Sharon got sick with the flu about a week after Shalyn was born, and that wasnt very good. The baby seems to be doing ok though. She has had some trouble nursing, but that is getting better. Sharon is doing pretty well, considering she just gave birth a little over a week ago and has had the flu since then. The latest development though is that she got an eviction notice from her apartment manager saying she cant have two residents per room--guess they are counting the baby as a resident. We think one of her neighbors complained about the baby crying. Sharon is working with a legal place up in Portland to see if she can get an attorney to say she can stay. The attorney thinks he can work things out for her to stay there. Moving would be kinda hard right now for her since she just gave birth, and cant walk around very well. Life is sure interesting!
I went to our church this last sabbath---it is sooo small now. I talked to one lady and she says that most people just dont want to come anymore since it is so gossip/fight riddled. It is really sad. I think there was only one person who really noticed that I was back, and that was a friend of Sharon's who wanted to know if she had her baby yet. I thought more people would be happy to see me. It was really weird feeling, especially after being at all the friendly churches in TN. I told my dad I don't really want to go back there anymore, and maybe we can go check out some of the Eugene churches. This next week is the "big" christmas program at our church, and usually i would never miss that for a thing, but this year, the church is so small, and, if you allow the word, "fakey" (meaning, everything seems to be put on, not really genuine) that I don't want to go. I wondered too, if maybe some of my feelings have to do with how much i have changed since i left for TN.
I am thinking about going snowboarding this week. I was going to go today, but my dad isn't so sure about me driving 5 hours one way to Mt. Ashland and spending all day there by myself. He wants me to go somewhere closer, but I am not excited about going alone somewhere new and learning the routes/lifts etc all by myself at a new place. I figure that since I am single now, and probably will be single for a looong time, ( if not forever), I better get used to going places by myself and doing things alone, though I wouldn't mind at all if someone wanted to go spend 9 hours with me on the bunny hill. (Like someone is going to do that!) Soooo, I might go tomorrow to Mt. Ashland, not sure though, but I am definitely going at least 2 times this break. Snowboarding is the BEST thing out there!!!
It has been strange coming home for a number of reasons. Number one, I am constantly bombarded with all my non-adventist friends out here, who are living the lifestyle i used to live. I keep praying for strength to stay strong, and resist the devil. I am constantly surrounded in it, but God is big, and He can keep the bad angels away!
Ok, soooo, i guess i just needed to type out a bunch of stuff here. There is TONS more i could type---like i could talk all about my plans for the youth sabbath school I am helping start at the Ladd Springs church. Oh boy, Tony will be so envious of me on this one...lol... this would be his dream job. ha Anyway, I am having fun planning it. :P
I am off to go help Sharon with baby and finish my Christmas shopping. Plus I need to go for my prayer walk (and i used to think Tony's prayer walks were kinda silly... now i need one too!... It is amazing how God works in our lives... and it is totally awesome too)

Something to think about
The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Sometimes we have no idea why, but the cool thing is that God never lets us down. When we are all alone, He is with us--so we are never truly alone. Sometimes we may feel very alone on this earth, but when we all get to heaven, we wont ever be alone. God definitely takes care of His own.
I think that sometimes God allows difficult things to happen to us because He wants to draw us closer to Him. When hard things come our way we end up with 2 choices: either to run from God or run to Him. I think running to Him is the best choice. :) I was telling God last night that I thought He has been allowing a few too many things to come my way that I dont like, but God was like, "Oh no, I am just polishing you extra good!" I just trust that God gives me the strength to stay strong and use everything He sends my way to draw me closer to Him.
Ok, enough sermonizing....I finally was able to log onto here by using a different computer. I will post more laterz---I am off to study the night away.

Yeah, I am still alive.. i just fell of da face of the earth for a bit
Bang! I am alive! Imagine that! I know... tsk tsk.. i should have posted way sooner, but I have been ever so slightly busy.
June 18 was my RN pinning ceremony. It was held at an old movie theatre that was really cool.Sharon got to pin me, so that was fun. Also all my classmates and their families were there at the ceremony,so that was fun as i got to meet so many of my classmates families and their kids. One of my classmates was the keynote speaker, and she was hilarious... i nearly died laughing. Gram, mom and dad got to come to the ceremony, so that was cool.
So... after that i began studying like a mad woman for my NCLEX-RN exam. I read 1490 pages in 2 1/2 weeks! On the scary day of July 7 i went and took my test. It was waaaaaaaaay harder than the LPN test. Lots of questions where i had absolutely no clue what they were talking about, either that or they were questions where i couldnt believe they would have something that hard on the test. I was scared to death during the entire thing. I was like "oh no! I cant believe this.. oh please let this thing turn off at the minimum number of questions before i die!" haha I got the minimum number of questions so that was good. The test thingie said i would have to wait 3 business days for my results... so the wait began.
As i walked outa the testing office my attorney called me and told me that SAU will absolutely NOT waive the vaccines for the BSN program. So, that was a bummer. I immediately began looking into SAU's other health related careers and have begun to get interested in their Health Science degree. I am pretty disgusted with SAU's close mindedness and stubborness. They could so easily acommodate me, but they still wont budge. *Sigh*
Well, Tony and our entire family went off to Crater Lake this last sabbath, July 8. We stopped at Tokatee Falls and Watson Falls on the way. They were all so awesome! We ate lunch at Diamond lake... and what a lunch! Tony made pasta salad and some of his delicious sandwiches again...yummy! We finally made it to Crater Lake around 3:30pm or so. Half of the rim was still closed due to snow, and we saw plenty of snow! It was amazing that there could be so many feet of snow in places and be around 80 degrees outside! It was pretty cool. The lake was sooooooooo beautiful! So blue colored! Really amazing. Another thing that was interesting was how still the lake was... i dont think i have ever seen a lake so quiet. There were a lot of chipmunks along the way too that we fed. Tony even got one to crawl into his hand to get a potato chip. (Yeah, some healthy food, eh?) It was so neat that our entire family got to come. We hired someone to stay with Gram, so we all got to go somewhere altogether as a family. That was really fun!
The other big news around here is that sister is going to have a baby! It is due Dec 17. She will find out whether it is a boy or girl on July 31, so we are all waiting to see what it is... She is about 19 weeks pregnant right now, so she has a bit of a ways to go. I have a bad case of the "tummy pats"... that tummy just looks so inviting to check out to see if it is getting bigger or not. Haha. I am always watching out for her to make sure she eats enough and all. I went to her first birthing class with her this last week. So that was interesting. It is hard to imagine that i am going to be an auntie!
Tony is getting ready to leave for TN pretty soon... he is busy packing and selling his stuff. I havent fully decided what my plans are, especially now that the baby is on its way. We shall see. Tony and i spend tons of time on the phone and never get to see each other enough. He is such an awesome guy. Of course, i am not biased or anything! (Oh wait, liers dont go to heaven you say? oh no!)
I am taking a writing class online: WR 122.... talk about stupid. I am so burned out on studying, and here i am trying to write papers again. I guess that is what i am supposed to be doing right now, so i better get back to it.
I will post pics soon.

I finally graduated!!!!!
Yes, it is true... i finally graduated... lo these four years later! And i am so excited!
Graduation was Saturday, June 10 at 4pm at the Lane County Fairgrounds. My graduating class is about 1000 students, but not that many people actually participated in the graduation ceremony. Sharon got to graduate with honors, and i graduated Phi Theta Kappa. She sat with her computer geek classmates, and i sat with my nursing classmates. I am sooo proud of my sister, graduating with TWO degrees at once... :D We had quite a few people come to our graduation: David, Elwood and Mildred, Mrs. Yost (yay!), my cousin, Joel, and his wife, Yuka, and Tony. Of course my parents came too.
After graduation we all went to this gorgeous rose garden, where they have over 400 different kinds of roses, and all of them were in bloom. It is sooo pretty! We took tons and tons of pics.
Tony stayed all weekend at our house, and we spent a lot of the day shampoo'ing our carpets... talk about a major ordeal! We took alllll the living room furniture out, and put a lot of it out on the front deck outside. In the afternoon Dad, Tony, and I went on a bike ride to the lake. Tony and i have fun making sure each other got nice and wet.. haha Then we came home and Tony showed me tons of pics! That was tons of fun...
All too soon the weekend was over, and Tony went away. :'( But it was an awesome two days. :)

Only 10 more days until Graduation!!!
Wow, hard to believe that i have just one more nursing exam left for my nursing degree! I have my last test June 5, and my final research paper for Writing 123 (research writing) due on June 6 and then i will be done!! woooooooooo hoooooo! Pretty exciting. I went and bought my cap and gown on Tuesday. I could hardly wait. I am still waiting for the Phi Theta Kappa regelia to come in though.
I had so much fun last sabbath. I went to Grants Pass again. Pastor Clark had such an awesome sermon on why God allows bad things to happen. Would surely love to steal that pastor and bring him to our church. hehe Then we went to a church members house for lunch. The lady was such a good cook. It was funny, she couldnt believe how much Tony and I ate.. haha... and i could have eaten so much more but we couldnt stay all day eating there... we had places to go and things to do! We went back to church, and picked up Melissa and Laura and headed to Ashland to go to Lithia Park. Talk about a cool park! It was so awesome! Tons of rhododendrens blooming right now, and all sorts of cool flowers. They have the ponds where there were lots of (tiny) baby duckies. They were so cute... looked like you could just scoop them up in your hand. hehe We saw the Monkey Puzzle Tree, which is this absolutely amazing tree....looks like something you would see in the mission field somewhere.. surely didnt look American! (Is from Chile actually). Laura decided to swing on the branches, and she did just fine, once she got up on Tony's shoulders so she could reach the branches. Then, ummm... Tony decided to swing on the branches. hahaha.... The two branches he was swinging on broke off... so Tony had to hide the branches in some nearby bushes. It was hilarious! Then we found this Cedar Tree, which Tony and I named the Seater Tree.. haha.. It had these nice curved branches that were perfect seats to sit and swing on. That was awesome. We then had supper in the park, and then i took them all back to Grants Pass safe and sound. It was such an awesome day. But i had to do an awful thing at the end of the day: say good bye to Tony. rofl. He is such a cool guy. Oh, that is right.. he does read this.. guess i better shut up.
I am back to go study for my test. I will post pics of my trip later!

Happy Easter all!
I had a great Easter Sabbath at Tony's church. We went to the gateway church first to hear the Easter Cantata that he sang in, perform at that church. It is sooo pretty! They used a book written by David Clydesdale, and since i love his work, I was just wow'd by the whole thing. :P After that, we ate and then went to the snow! It was a blast! Tony, little Mike, Shon, and Travis went with us. We had a great snowball fight, complete with wrestling, climbing up in the woods to rain snowballs on the people below, and eating snow fests! We packed scooby on the front of Tony's van with snow, and called it a day. It was so much fun. The evening Easter Cantata was even more beautiful than the one at the Gateway Church because they have a better sound system there. It was awesome. Of course, Tony did great, not that i am biased or anything. ;)
It was a great day, and it was so much fun to see Tony again. Too bad he lives so far away.. hehe
On a side note, i got my financial aide award letter from Southern last night and my grants and scholarhips come up to $10,500!!!!!!!! I was so excited! Whooooooooopie! I also have over $10,000 loans available to me as well, so that is cool.
So, it was a great day :)

The Jist of my Spring Break :P
Howdy all! Yeah, I survived finals week … but barely! It was awful! My nursing test was not too bad, but my chemistry final was so hard! It took me hours to complete. But the good news is that I got A’s in all my classes. I am so happy about that!
My one week of Spring break was awesome but waaay too short! On Sabbath the 25th, Dad, Sharon and I went to Grants Pass. After church, a bunch of us went to Table Rock mountain. Now this place is pretty amazing. It takes about 35 minutes or so to hike to the top and once you get to the top of this mountain it is completely flat for about a mile or so in all directions. But all around the edges is this drop off that is about 300 down. When you walk to the edge you are looking directly down about 300 feet! It was unbelievable! Tony, and Eric (Les's son) and I had fun throwing rocks off the edge of the mountain and hearing them crash down below. Some of the rocks even exploded mid air. When you are looking off the edge the trees down below look so tiny! You could see for miles and miles too. It was really fun! Then after that, Tony took Sharon, and me go-kart racing and mini golfing, neither of which Sharon and I had ever done before. It was a blast. Les and Melissa came along too with their kids and that made it even more fun, especially when we were in the go-karts! Les was one pretty good driver, but we did manage to swipe him once. ha :P Laura was wicked in hers as she just stopped directly in front of us, and we had no choice but to plow into her, spinning her around and into the edge of the track. That was funny. haha
On thursday Tony took sharon and me to Mt Ashland for snowboarding. Well.... hmmm.. That was challenging but oh so much fun! Sharon couldnt ever really stand up, and so that was frustrating for her. I felt sorry for her. She spent a lot of time in the lodge. lol I was rather stubborn and figured it out. I never got good enough to go beyond the bunny hill, but I did manage to go down the hill with only falling down twice. :p It was soooooooooooo much fun. I can hardly wait to go again! wooo hoooo! :D
On April 1 Tony came up here, and we went hiking at Brice Creek. That was really fun, as I havent been there for a while. We went Lower Trestle Creek Falls. It was pretty this time since it has been raining so much lately. It was great weather, even though it did rain on and off some but it didnt get us very wet since we were under the trees. :P
The other big news is that during Spring Break i got my provisional acceptance into Southern Adventist University 's BSN program!!!!!!! I am sooooooooo excited!
I am back in school now. :( I am so burned out this term! lol I got to drop Chem 106 at the end of this last week but had to add research writing last Friday. So, now I am a week behind in the writing class. :O So that should be interesting. So I am only taking 12 credits this term, which SHOULD be better than last term. lol We shall see...
Ok, I think that is it for now... I shall update this laterz

ohhhh.. finals week!
Oh... i think i might die at the end of this week! haha Yup, finals week has decended upon me with all its wrath and fury, and with it two huge comprehensive finals where I absolutely must make an B or A- on the final to get an A in the class. So, yeah, i might be kinda zomby like by the time i head down to Grants Pass on the 25th, but I am sure that all my friends down there can shake some life back into me! And then on the 28th Tony is taking Sharon and me snowboarding! Yay!!! That should be sooo way cool!
So there is the update... Wil update you all on the results of the finals and the status of my sanity later.

soooo bizy...
Life has been so busy lately!! Had two huge tests recently, one in chemistry last week and another (really hard) test in nursing this last monday. The good news is that i have only a few more weeks of clinicals this term! I have really enjoyed doing clinicals on the medical floor this term. I have pushed myself until now i can take the whole team... which has been super challenging, but fun!
Tony came last sabbath and spent the day with us. We all went hiking in the afternoon. It was the first time that tony and i have gone hiking together where we can really talk in peace and quiet without a ton of kids jabbering to us. It was really fun. :P He ended up staying until around 12am...lol He was on his way to see his parents in AZ for the week. He is coming back here on sunday to spend some time again too.
Last night i helped out in the Lane Preview event.... it was soooooooooo awesome! They were expecting around 200-500 high school seniors to come to the event and learn about the college but instead around 1000 high school seniors came! It was way cool... and VERY busy. I was so exhausted by the time it was over and clean up was done! Then i took 3 of the people home plus a ton of the balloons. It was pretty exciting evening complete with getting to talk to the President of the College, and waching KVAL channel 13 interview people.
Currently i am behind on my school by one week, so better run here. :P

........!
AAAAAAAAAAACk! haha This term is proving to be super busy. My chemistry class is incredibly hard... got a 89% on my first midterm. :(( The A doesnt start until 94%. Ah well, the teacher throws out your midterm scores if you do really really well on the final. YES!!! So the pressure is on! hehe
Had an awesome sabbath this last week. I went to Roseburg where there was a Pathfinders jamboree dealio. Tony was there with a bunch of kids from his church, and Melissa and her daughter, Laura were there too. It was sooo much fun! There was tons and tons of awesome food, and then we took a walk in the afternoon which was really cool. It had been raining, but cleared up all nice for our walk. We went to this park and the kids had a lot of fun pushing this huge water scrapers around on the tennis court. They had fun with that until they broke one of them... whoopsie! lol Then we went back, and they had haystacks, and then the durby car race. I couldnt stay for the actual race, but saw the race track, and got to see a lot of the durby cars. Tony's was an alligator, and Laura's was a puppy dog... there was also some edible cars! One was made entirely out of carrots... even the wheels! (And it rolled too!) One was made out of a cake.. that was cool.. it didnt actually roll though...hehe I had such an awesome time i was sad to come back home! I wish i could have stayed overnight in the camp out in the gym! hehe Pathfinders is really cool!
Sharon has rented her own apartment. It is one of the quads at the UofO. It is pretty nice... right next door to Happi, so he will keep the bathrooms and kitchen nice and clean for her. She has had a lot of fun packing up her stuff. I am going to help her move a bit this afternoon before my chemistry class, and then i will probably go over there after my chemistry class as well. It is in a quiet location, but right next to the fraternity at UofO. :-s. She is really excited about moving though, so i am trying to be happy for her, though i will miss her terribly.
Tony and i still managed to get a lot of yacking/ emailing time in, even though my classmates have no idea how on earth i am fitting so much into my schedule. It is called gooood time management! ;) He is a really nice guy, and i am blessed to know him. ;)
Grandma has been getting progressivly harder to care for these days, and giving her showers is becoming a more and more challenging job. My poor mom is a saint staying home all day to take care of her. I am rarely home this term with all my night classes and all. Not totally sure how long we are going to be able to keep this up this time...especially with my going to Texas this summer.
Found out i am going to need to get both an Oregon and Texas RN license today... that is almost a $1000 !!! I was like: "what??!!! $%*@ ! lol
Ok, i better quit yacking here, and get back to finishing up an email to a certain someone, and hit da books again.

THE update :D
I managed to survive last term somehow! lol I surely dont know how i did it though... toward the end of the term, i seriously began to wonder what on earth i had gotten myself into by adding that sociology class on top of the nursing jazz. Thanks to my mom writing my final paper for me, i managed to get an A in the class. Whew!
Christmas break was busy. I worked some at my charge nurse job, and slept and ate tons! I set up all the christmas decorations .... looked so nice when i was all done! Dad managed to get the christmas lights to the top of the blue spruce again... one of these days it is just going to get too tall to do it! Dad is now having to stand on the very top rung of the orchard ladder to get to the very top. Mom runs and hides when he is putting up those lights! She says she doesnt want to see him die! haha Sharon was gone off to Walla Walla to see her bf during most of our break. She was going to stay only 10 days but was detained due to all the snowy/icey weather that we had. I was glad to see her back home! I did a lot of christmas shopping this year. I bought the family a dining silverware set that is really nice. It was fun picking it out. ;) Sharon went with me one of the times once she got back. That was fun... we went to the mall, and ate there at the eating plaza. The eating plaza at the Valley River Center is soooo cool cuz there are so many fast food places to chose from! I ended up spending way more money than i was planning on spending! hehe
I went to Grants Pass to see Tony a couple of times during my break. One time i went down there on the sabbath that they had their christmas program... that was really cool! I got to sing with the singing group that was outside before sabbath school sitting outside on bails of hay with goats, and a pony ( or a mule.. cant remember what it was exactly!) and chickens and sheep! That was fun. The goats kept getting out of their area (they were fenced it with bails of hay). Then i went to the sabbath school class that Tony and Pastor Ed teach. That was cool! I guess i was so quiet that tony almost forgot that i was in there... hehe... My quiet side coming out i guess. haha Their christmas program was awesome with a play, and lots of singing/special music. Then tony and Dad and I (Sharon was w/ Jeff during this time) went for a walk, and then went caroling in Glendale. That was really fun... cold too! It was about 20 degrees or so outside, so we kept bundle up in jackets and gloves! lol I had a great time. ;)
The sabbath before Christmas tony came up to our church and then came out to our house for the afternoon/evening. My mom really liked Tony... really really REALLY liked him... :D (yesssssssssss! :D ) So that was cool.
I saw Tony again on Jan 7 too when i went down there, and Tony's sabbath school class put on the church service at the new Glendale SDA church. That was fun!
On Christmas day and on the day after christmas i worked at my charge nurse job. That was fun... sure do love keeping busy! And it seems that every time i work there, i learn more! lol They have some really dedicated staff there. Nice place to work on my breaks, but definitely not where i want to be long term! Just nice pay on breaks from schoo.. hehe
Tony and i managed to put in a lot of yacking on the phone during our break... around 3 hours a night. eeps! lol We are still just friends, just taking it slow and praying a lot.
School is super duper busy this term, as i am taking 15 credits this term: i added Chem 105. I have a really nice teacher and there are only 7 people in the class, which is cool. Two of those people i know, and they are really nice, so that is neat. The only down side ( besides that there is tons of homework with it!) is that it goes until 10pm on Thursday nights. Aw well... tis life. :P
Sharon broke up with Jeff during christmas, and is now once again single. That was pretty rough for her. She is doing waaaaaaaaaay too much with taking 20 credits, and working her 3 jobs, plus being on so many committees. She hangs out with Happi a lot and is considering moving into one of the quads at the UofO right across the hall from Happi. Currently she is terribly sick with some strange illness that is making her super duper tired, and having awful looking sores on the back of her throat. She has been going to a lot of doctors, but they all think that it is the flu. Some strange flu! I hope she gets better. A lot of us are really worried about her cuz she is doing so much and getting so little sleep and food.
We have had tons of rain and a lot of area flooding. Havent seen the sun in weeks. Kinda gets to you when you dont see the sun! I would pay for some real sunshine about now!And the weather man said that there is ANOTHER storm coming in tomorrow with a whole lot more flooding... bummer! lol
OK, so there is the update on all the goings and comings around here. Gotta go run off to chemistry class now!
